This training is an introduction to the Actran software and a presentation of its capabilities in the field of internal and external acoustics.

- Learn the theoretical basics of acoustics and acoustic simulations (finite element methods, no-reflection method, dissipative acoustic models)
- Know how to input data from an internal and/or external acoustic simulation (mesh, boundary conditions, loading)
- Be able to launch an acoustic simulation and know how to visualize and interpret the results

- This course is for people who want to discover the basic functionalities of the Actran software and its characteristics related to acoustic propagation.

- Reading and understanding written English (course materials in English)
Contenu de la formation
Day 1
- Introduction to the Actran software
- Introduction to the modeling process in Actran
- Workshop: Handling Actran input files
- Theory: Finite Element Methods and Infinite Acoustic Elements, Acoustic Boundary Conditions
- Workshop: Acoustic radiation in the near and far field of a loudspeaker horn using infinite elements
- Workshop: Creating an acoustic mesh in Actran based on a CAD file
Day 2
- Theory: Modeling and integration of dissipative and damping acoustic effects, porous materials, and transfer admittance
- Workshop: Calculating the acoustic radiation of a gearbox after adding acoustic treatment (cover, casing)
- Theory: Introduction to Actran TM
- Theory: Coupling with duct modes
- Theory: Turbomachine noise simulations
- Workshop: Acoustic radiation at the entrance of a nacelle without flow
- Theory: Actran TM simulations with flow
- Workshop: Mean flow calculation with Actran’s compressible flow solver
Day 3
- Theory: Interpolation of mean flow with the ICFD utility
- Workshop: Acoustic radiation at the entrance of a nacelle with flow
- Project Application : Project models overview and knowledge transfer
- Additional features: - Introduction to Actran HPC capabilities - Actran automation using scripting
Équipe pédagogique
The training is led by specialized and experienced Hexagon engineers. Instructors are regularly trained on product updates.

Ressources techniques et pédagogiques
- Welcome booklet
- Access to an extranet space for each learner for follow-up before, during, and after the training (program, evaluation, location).
- Provision of course materials and exercises.
- On Hexagon sites: training room equipped with a video projector and one PC per learner.
- On client sites: technical prerequisites are mentioned in the welcome booklet and implemented with the Hexagon technical team.
